EASTER GREETING

We are such ephemeral, transient, divergent creatures
Worrying about eating, health insurance, body odor
While within us a radiant lotus blooms.
In the horizontal domain, the staccato world of science
With great earnestness we arrange and rearrange the pieces about the board
While vertically we identify with the earth in all its baseness
And ascend to an essence that through its utter transparency
Is one with all. We are, each of us, however complex, however forgotten
Messengers between these two aspects, spread across,
Cast down, risen up, asking the sky for answers to the earth
Speaking babble to the gods.
This is our lot, to then remember our divergent nature
The golden nexus that is the cross’s meeting place
To hold alive the divine moment of separation
And through this one act, this one thought,
To be reborn.
